* This bulb is bright and unique. Perfect for little kids goldfish tanks.
* 7 1/8" overall length, 5 5/8" glass tube length.
* GX23 style base (hellolight's ballast kits have GX23 bases on them).
* This bulb has an internal starter that is designed to be operated on a simple "choke" magnetic ballast. Electronic ballasts will not work with this lamp or any 9W or 13W lamps which have internal starters, regardless of manufacture.
* Will NOT fit "Mini-Mite" Osram bulb type sockets.

Q. Why would I want a red bulb?
A. We ran across a vendor who had lots of these little guys in stock. We didn't think they had much aquaria application until we took the samples we got, and actually used them on some of our tanks. The result? They enhance existing lighting pretty well, and cause coralline algae to really stand out. We also tried it on a tank full of Ryukins and Red Cap Orandas, and the supplemental red was a nice visual boost for the fish. We liked it, so we ordered some.
