Iris aimed to create a line of high quality, low cost metal
halide bulbs to the aquarium hobbyist. Their goal was to make a bulb that can
compete with the best, without the high price tag. Focusing specifically on the
14,000K, Iris has developed that product.
The Iris 14,000K provides excellent color and great
intensity. The color is a nice crisp blue, but not too blue. It can be used
alone or with actinic supplementation.
The bulb by itself will provide enough light to bring out the fluorescent
pigments in your corals. This bulb will give you the pop youre looking for.
150w is recommended for tanks up to 18 deep.

Better than Phoenix

So far I love these bulbs! They are a nice crystal blue color, which is the color I've been looking for. The Phoenix bulbs I had before these were a little too blue. These bulbs are perfect. My only issue thus far is that it took the ballasts several times to start up one of my bulbs. But once it fired for the first time, now it comes right on every time. Not sure what caused that? But only time will tell if there's any ill effect or early failure. But for the price, you can buy 2 bulbs for what 1 Pheonix costs.

Decent Color, But Poor Quality

I have been using these for several months now. Color is good, but I have had 2 of 5 lamps fail within a very short period. Stick to the Phoenix.

Comparable to the Phoenix, it's not quite as blue, but it's brighter and more natural looking light. Great value at this sale price of $23!
