* Note: the reflector in this kit now comes un-attached to the ballast. We suggest you securely mount your ballast first, then glue the reflector into place using "Marine Goop". Marine Goop is a glue available at most hardware stores. This method of attachment will be permanent to the ballast, so be sure the reflector is positioned to your liking.
* Caution: This retrofit/ballast kit must be housed in an area free of moisture, behind glass or acrylic. Make sure the bulb and socket are sealed off from any moisture, humidity or evaporation of your tank's water. Failure to do so will void any and all warranty, and could be a potential hazard.

Q. Is this ballast remote?
A. No, the ballast and socket are integrated into one unit, and the reflector mounts onto the ballast.
Q. I have both 13W and 9W bulbs on your ballast kits. Why does the 9W look as bright or brighter than the 13W?
A. Remember that the visual eye is a very poor indicator of light intensity. The reason the 9W appear to be so bright is because the physical tube length is shorter than the 13W. Thus, it appears brighter to some.
Q. Will my "Mini-Mite Aquarium Light" bulbs work in this unit?
A. No, they have different sockets, "Mini-Mite" Osram type bulbs are not compatible with this kit.
